Uneven tail length of a Shama

Been trying to see whether with proper care, a Shama's uneven tail will grow evenly. After 3 molts in my hand, I would like to conclude at least for this bird.... it is not possible. Could be a genetic thing. Which means, I would have to leave it out of my gene pool.

Sell? exchange? maybe have to consider after it's molt.

Shamas are territorial bird and are very protective. For example when I was playing with my African Grey, Max my shama flew toward the african grey and attacked her. Max will also dive boom the parrot. I am sure your shama was trying to protect the female, but the cat was too fast, the shama will have no chance. sorry but be carefull next time. Such a lovely bird.
